Jennifer Hudson new single, Spotlight is smooth and she is engaging although some say that the start of the video is not original because it's bears some similarity to Janet Jackson's what have you done for me lately.

She's got swagger, her sexy style and new physique compliments her acting and playfulness with the male star in the video. She's said to be an admirer of Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin and her vocal range is reminiscent of these two stars.

Jennifer is another one of the extremely talented singers that Simon Cowell and his arrogance booted off American Idol. This girl has a golden voice that has tremendous range and she exhibits so much voice control.

When Jennifer was eliminated from American Idol, you could see the disappointment on her face and it left you wondering if the judges had been wearing ear plugs. Sometimes it appears that it's more about image and by that I mean fat vs. slim but she bounced back in an enormous way.

Jennifer got a starring role as Effie White, the motion picture version of the Broadway musical "Dreamgirls." Her performance in the musical was extremely strong and outstanding as is evident by her Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Hudson's Spotlight music video gets 4.5 thumbs up and I look forward to more great things from her in the years to come.
