In Rap news today it has been announced that BET will cancel the longest running Hip-Hop program ever at 19 years. BET will cancel Rap City on October 29, 2008 to be replaced by a show called The Deal hosted by DJ Diamond Kutz on Novemeber 10. Introduced in 1989 Rap City's "golden era" was during 1994 - 1999 which is arguably Hip Hop's golden era. During this period of time the show was hosted by Joe Claire and Big Lez. Following that time it became know as Rap City: Tha Basement hosted by Big Tigger and introduced the popular Freestyle sessions in the booth that feature Big Tigger joining professional MCs like Jay-Z, Nas, Jadakiss, Ludacris and others.
