Alvin Ailey's genius helped to bridge gaps, change perceptions of American dance and create a legacy that as Americans we can be all proud. This company of dancers such as Judith Jamison shows that beauty, poise, the human spirit of hope and passion is limited only by our imaginations.

As a former dancer, I salute Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and pray for several more golden anniversary celebrations to come.
